At 02:10am Bessie Henderson Wishart is born at 3 Washington Street in the St. George parish of Edinburgh. She is the daughter of a lorry man named Peter Wishart and his wife Elizabeth Dunbar.

France

At Calonne in the brigade reserve, 12056 L/Cpl Robert Alexander Wishart and the 1st Highland Light Infantry remain ready to move at two hours notice.  A period of training and re-organisation begins for the battalion.

9650 Pte. Alexander Wishart and the 1st Scots Guards parade at 3:30pm and march to Tombe Willot near Locon, where the battalion billet in scattered farm houses. 677 Pte. Henry Gray Wishart leaves Paradis with the 1st Seaforths and marches via Zelubes and Vieille Chapelle to a bivouac in Square M25 north, where they spend the day squatting along hedges in the mud. At 6:30pm the battalion march to the trenches in the Neuve Chapelle sector and take over the line from the Lincolns. Two companies are placed in the firing line with four machine guns, one is in support whilst the fourth is positioned with battalion HQ. The trenches are recored as being very wet and impossible to get out of by day without going right across open ground in front of the Germans, who are 200-250 yards in front of the British line. One officer and 50 men hold an advanced post within 100 yards of the enemy in an orchard. During the night the Seaforths work hard improving the trenches.

2nd Lieutenant William Ferguson Wishart and the 6th Battalion Scottish Rifles (Cameronians) march off from La Gorgue Estaires at 10:30am and head to Fleurbaix, where they billet in a school.

Privates 27972 George Rodger Wishart and 27414 James Wishart of the 15th Battalion, CEF are relieved in the trenches at Rue-Petillon at 7:30pm by the 14th Battalion, CEF.

Belgium

‘D’ Coy of the 9th Royal Scots rejoin the rest of the battalion at Mount Kokereel and consequently had he not been already,  85 Sgt. Gordon Wishart is at this position with the rest of his unit.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
