12812 Pte. Andrew Wishart ( – )
Tree: Unknown
12812 Pte. Andrew Wishart served in France from 2 May 1915 where he joined the 2nd Cameronians (Scottish Rifles.) As his service records have not survived little else is known about him, though it is possible he was from Glasgow.
Andrew’s battalion had been in France since November 1914 and shortly before he joined them, had seen action at Neuve Chapelle. Andrew may have been at Aubers Ridge and then the action at Bois Grenier. During 1916 the Cameronians, who formed part of the 8th Division, fought on the first day of the Somme when they attacked towards the Ovillers Spur.
