At Auchel, 12056 L/Cpl Robert Alexander Wishart and the 1st Battalion, Highland Light Infantry are inspected by the Commander in Chief, Sir John French who also inspects the 1st Seaforth Highlanders (including 677 Pte. Henry Gray Wishart) are inspected along with the rest of the Bareilly and Dehra Dun Brigades at 11 a.m.
Privates 2450 J Wishart and 7397 G Wishart of the 1st Black Watch remain in the trenches near Givenchy. One man from the battalion is wounded today.
10689 L/Cpl J Wishart of the 1st Battalion, Royal Scots leaves Caestre and marches in the direction of Millenkruisse however due to a block of transport on the road the battalion do not make their destination before nightfall and spend the night in houses and farms in the vicinity of the road.
