At Links Place in Burntisland, a 31-year-old local carter named John Wishart marries Mary Jane Gray from Kinghorn. John is the son of William and Isabella Wishart, and living at Kirkton Gardens at the time of the marriage.
Further east in the County of Fife, David Wishart visits the recruiting office in Denbeath and joins the Royal Garrison Artillery. He had been working as a butcher at the time and lived on Wellesley Road in Methil.
