During the day the 1st Battalion, Highland Light Infantry (including 12056 L/Cpl. R Wishart) withdraw from the trenches at Festubert and make their way to Gorre. At 3 p.m. 2413 Pte. Andrew Brock Wishart of the 9th Battalion, HLI begins a 12 mile journey by bus from Bailleul to Locon.

At 7:30 p.m. privates 2450 J Wishart and 7397 G Wishart of the 1st Battalion, Royal Highlanders (Black Watch) take over trenches held by the 1st Coldstream Guards at Rue d’Ouvert, north of Givenchy.

10689 L/Cpl J Wishart of the 1st Royal Scots detrains at 4 p.m. in Aire-sur-la-Lys and marches with his battalion to French Army barracks at Château Moine.
