At the parish church in Gorbals, Glasgow, Gilbert McKinnon Wishart, a carter currently serving with the 4th (Service) Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders, marries a local domestic servant named Jessie Penman. Six days after the wedding Gilbert is sent to France where he stayed for much of the remainder of the war. The couple would eventually go on to have two children, and are part of tree WIS0078.
