20 April 1918

At Balinoor Terrace in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, a private soldier serving with the 72nd Canadian Infantry Battalion named Ronald John Wishart marries the daughter of a local fish-curer named Norah Hutcheson. Ronald, originally from Alloa was the son of a clerk named Robert and his wife, Margaret McNab. He had emigrated to Canada in 1912 and enlisted in Vernon, British Columbia in January 1917. At the time of the marriage, he was stationed in Seaford, Sussex and would soon go overseas with his unit. Tragically the union would be short-lived as Ronald was killed in action on 12 October. The couple are part of tree WIS0023.
