As dawn breaks hostile enemy firing recommences. 8394 Pte. John Waddie Wishart, 1st Battalion, South Wales Borderers spends the day in the newly dug trenches.  It is raining, and without any proper drainage the trench fills with water, adding to the misery of the situation. A cold wind blows from the south-west and any attempts at getting rest are fitful and short-lived.

56591 Gnr. George Greig Wishart, 56th Battery, RFA remains in Verneuil whilst to the south 7322 Gnr. Joseph Wishart, 6th DAC remains at Hartennes.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
