1995 Pte. Albert Wishart arrives in France from Southampton and makes his way to his unit – the 5th Battalion, Royal Highlanders (Black Watch) with whom he would join in the field on Christmas Day. He is the 23rd Wishart to arrive in France since August.  The 1st Battalion, Black Watch (with 2450 Pte. J Wishart and 7397 Pte. G Wishart ) who are based in Borre are put under two hours notice to move.

At Bailleul almost the entire battalion of the 9th Highland Light Infantry (including 2413 Pte. Andrew Brock Wishart) have now been kitted out with new boots and puttees whilst in Festubert 10046 Pte. J Wishart and 12056 L/Cpl. R Wishart with the 1st Battalion spend a quiet day in the trenches.

1299 Pte. A Wishart remains in Le Havre with the 1st/7th Battalion, Princess Louise’s (Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
