In Fort Slocum, New York 22-year-old James Mackie Wishart from Leuchars, Fife, joins the American Air Service and is sent to the aviation school at Kelly Field for training. James would eventually see overseas service from September 1918 and survived the war. He is part of tree WIS0056.

Arriving in France is 91503 Gnr. David Wishart of the 128th Anti Aircraft Section, Royal Garrison Artillery. David was born in Lower Largo during 1885 and would live to see the end of the war. He was married with two daughters, worked as a butcher and died aged 68 in 1954. The family are part of tree WIS0087.
