Half an hour before midnight at 15 Baker’s Lane in Buckhaven, Fife, Andrew Wishart, a boiler fireman, and his wife Christina Neish, become parents to a daughter and name her Euphemia Macdonald. She is the seventh of nine children and lived until 1943. The family are part of tree WIS0066.

Canada

In Sussex, New Brunswick, 20-year-old George Clarence Wishart, a farmer from Tabusintac, enlists in the military and joins the Depot Battalion of the New Brunswick Regiment. George will remain in Canada for the remainder of the war and married in 1924. He had three children, worked as an engineer and died aged 85 in 1983. His family are part of tree WIS0051.

Enlisting with George is his cousin Edward Robert Wishart, who was also a farmer and two-years older. Like George, Edward joined the Depot Battalion of the New Brunswick Regiment. He would marry after the war, worked as an iron worker,  and lived until 1982.
