Enlisting in the Royal Navy today is 44-year-old Henry Stewart Wishart, a marine engineer from Glasgow. Henry survived the war and died in Leeds during 1947. He is part of Wishart Tree 106.
Arriving in Alexandria is 4136 Pte. Silas David Wishart of the 1st/5th Battalion, Essex Regiment.Silas would go on to serve in the Palestine campaign but suffered heart trouble towards the end of 1917 due to the climate. After a spell in a Cairo hospital he went back to active service and survived the war. He died in Suffolk during 1936.
