In Newcastle, NSW a 34-year-old miner from Fife, Scotland named William Wishart joins the 11th Reinforcements, 1st Pioneer Battalion AIF and would eventually arrive on the Western Front almost a year later. Arriving in Suez is 17335 Spr. Robert Noble Wishart from Angaston, South Australia. After disembarkation Robert marches to camp at Moascar where he joins the 1st Signal Squadron (Anzac Mounted Division) who were part of the Engineers. Robert survived the war and afterwards worked as a postmaster in Streaky Bay, SA. He married and had one daughter and is part of tree WIS0020.
