29 March 1918

In Jacksonville, Florida, 19-year-old Ralph Waldo Wishart from Eastman, Georgia enlists with the US military and is sent to Key West, where he joins a coastal defences artillery company. He was based in the US for the remainder of the war, after which he became a woodsman in the naval stores (later a logging contractor.) In 1921 he married Juanita Jones in Ocala and had three children with her between 1922 and 1928. ‘Waldo’ (as he appears to have been commonly known) died in Miami during 1972 and is part of tree WIS0068.
