The 9th Highland Light Infantry are holding a line near Festubert, echeloned behind the Worcesters on the left and 3rd Brigade on the right. There is slight enemy shelling on the Highlanders position and 2413 Pte. Andrew Brock Wishart makes it through the day without incident. 12056 L/Cpl Robert Alexander Wishart of the 1st HLI remains with his unit in divisional reserve at Veille Chapelle.
Privates 3/4067 Robert Wishart and 7397 George Wishart of the 1st Black Watch march from Béthune during the afternoon and arrive in Beuvry at 3:15 p.m. where they billet.
10689 L/Cpl J Wishart, 1st Battalion, Royal Scots spend the day working on the trenches at Dickebusch. Tasks involve improving drainage, revetting, rebuilding parapets, improving trench bottoms and cutting new communications trenches. Hundreds of sandbags are used, but thousands are required to do the job properly. Any available stakes and planks are pulled up and used for revetting.
All other Wisharts remain at their previously reported positions.
