8394 Pte. John Waddie Wishart left Malgarni at 8 am and marched with the 1st Battalion, South Wales Borderers to billets in St. Aubin. The battalion war diary records that they are now getting near the Belgian frontier and can hear distant guns for the first time. Orders are received to proceed into Belgium the following day.
