James Haig Wishart, a coal miner from Kirkcaldy, marries Janet Reekie at 53 George IV Bridge in Edinburgh. James was the son of John Wishart, a mechanical engineer, and Margaret Haig. Janet’s parents were John Reekie, coal miner, and Lilias Gourlay. Prior to their marriage James and Janet lived several doors away from each other in Bridgeton, Kirkcaldy.
In Glasgow James Wishart enlists with the 6th Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers.
