The day starts quietly for 10046 Pte. J Wishart and 12056 L/Cpl. R Wishart in the trenches at Festubert and at 9 p.m. orders are received for B & C Coys of the 1st Highland Light Infantry to attack German positions near Givenchy.  Meanwhile at Bailleul the 9th battalion of the same regiment (which includes 2413 Pte. Andrew Brock Wishart) receive repeat orders to stand by to move at an hours notice.
