At 10 a.m. orders are received by the 1st Seaforth Highlanders to return to the trenches. During the afternoon Pte. Henry Gray Wishart marches with the battalion to a position north of La Quinque Rue near Festubert. The trenches are sodden and full of mud. The war diary records that a number of men lose their shoes and socks in the mud and suffer from cold during the night. Enemy snipers are active at points during the night.
In St. Omer the Liverpool Scottish (which includes two Wishart brothers) line the route of a funeral procession for the late Field Marshal Lord Roberts. A number of men took part in the procession itself.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
