7247 Pte. Thomas Wishart enlists in Galashiels and joins the 1st/4th King’s Own Scottish Borderers. He had been working as a grocer at the time and was sent to Stirling for training. Meanwhile in Edinburgh, 2097 Pte, Charles Wishart enlists and joins the 3rd (Reserve) Lowland Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps. Charles is the brother of John Wishart who enlisted in Toronto on 10 November.
