6381 Gnr. Andrew Johnston Wishart is promoted to acting bombardier.
Private 2450 John Wishart of the 1st Battalion, Royal Highlanders (Black Watch) complains of severe chill blains whilst in the trenches at Givenchy. Later in the day the battalion are relieved by the South Wales Borderers and march to billets in Beuvry. On closer inspection John is diagnosed as suffering from frostbite and is sent to hospital in Boulogne.
In Auchel the 1st Highland Light Infantry (including 12056 L/Cpl Robert Alexander Wishart) receive orders to proceed to the trenches the next day.
2413 Pte. Andrew Brock Wishart of the 9th Battalion, Highland Light Infantry marches from billets at les Choquaux to billets at Essars – just northeast of Béthune.
