At Lady Nina Square in Markinch, John Wishart – a local coal miner, and his wife Mary Wishart Ness become parents to their third (and last child) – a boy named George Ness.

When older George would follow his father into the mines, and served with the Black Watch during World War Two (during which he proudly declared he never fired a shot in anger.) He died in Kirkcaldy of cancer during 1984 and is part of tree WIS0025.
