Dying of wounds received on 28 September during the Cambrai operations is 1015982 Pte. Ronald John Wishart of the 72nd Battalion (British Columbia Regiment) CEF. He was shot in the groin and lower waist and had been evacuated to the 33rd Casualty Clearing Station and then the 25th Ambulance Train before being transferred onwards to the 17th Ambulance Train several days later. In 1917 Ronald had been wounded at Passchendaele when he was shot in his eyelid, but had recovered enough to return to active duty. Born in Alloa, Ronald left Scotland for Canada and took up a position at the Gerrard and Main branch of the Royal Bank of Canada in Toronto on 24 September 1912. He is part of tree WIS0023.
