In Perth, Western Australia an eighteen-year-old labourer from Leederville named Henry Ernest Wishart visits the recruiting office and enlists with the 4th Reinforcements, 11th Battalion AIF.
A Thomas Wishart visits his local recruiting office and enlists with the 8th Battalion, Royal Highlanders (Black Watch.) Nothing further is currently known about Thomas other than that he was wounded in 1916.
The stormy weather continues in Northern France and some of the trenches are becoming quite untenable due to flooding. Near Givenchy men of the 1st Black Watch (which includes privates 2450 J Wishart and 7397 G Wishart) note that the forward trenches to the left of their position are evacuated by the Mhow Cavalry Brigade due to water. Casualties during the day number three ranks wounded.
