Enlisting today in Trentham is a 23-year-old farmer from Invercargill named James Smaile Wishart. After being passed fit for service he joins ‘D’ Coy, 17th Reinforcements, 2nd Battalion Otago Regiment NZEF and eventually proceeds overseas during September. He was killed in action during October 1917 in Belgium and is part of Wishart Tree 002.
Arriving in Egypt is 2179 Tpr. Harry Clifton Wishart of the 16th Reinforcements, 9th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF. Harry is part of Wishart Tree 020.
