Married today at 24 St. Catherine Street in Cupar is 28-year-old David Wishart – a general labourer serving as a lance corporal with the 3rd/2nd Lovat Scouts and based at Scone Camp in Perth. His wife, Catherine Mackenzie (20) was the daughter of the late John Mackenzie and lived in Cupar. They were married by declaration in front of Margaret Mackenzie, a domestic servant, and John Wishart, who was a contractor. David’s parents were John Wishart and Jessie Williamson. David would go on to have the unhappy distinction of being the last Wishart to lose his life in the Great War.
