In Camden, New Jersey, a 22-year-old local salesman named Douglas Edward Wishart enlists with the American Expeditionary Force, and joins Battery ‘D’ of the 307th Field Artillery. After a brief period of training Douglas will leave for France with his unit from New York on board the steamer RMS Cedric on 27 May.

Douglas survived the war and was married with two sons. He died in Camden on 5 November 1973 and is part of tree WIS0007.
